2025 JAMB UTME/DE Registration: Updates, Requirements, and New Rules
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released a crucial update for prospective candidates of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE).
While registration has not yet commenced, JAMB has assured candidates that details about the exercise will be announced soon.
Preparation Tips for Prospective Candidates
To ensure a smooth registration process, JAMB advises candidates to start preparing ahead of time by taking the following steps:
1. Obtain Your National Identification Number (NIN):
The NIN is a mandatory requirement for registration. Candidates should ensure they have their NIN ready as it will be used during the registration process.
2. Secure a Functional Phone Number:
Candidates must use a phone number that has not been previously used to register on the JAMB platform. This phone number will be required to generate a profile code, a key step in the registration process.
General Requirements for 2025 JAMB Registration
Candidates planning to register for the 2025 UTME/DE must have the following ready:
1. NIN: This is compulsory for all candidates.
2. Valid Email Address: Ensure you use an active email for communication with JAMB.
3. Passport Photograph: A recent and clear photograph in JPEG format.
4. O’Level Results: Ensure your WAEC, NECO, or equivalent results are available, or select the option for “awaiting results” if applicable.
5. Personal Details: Accurate bio-data including date of birth, state, and local government of origin.
6. Choice of Institutions and Courses: Have a clear plan for your preferred schools and programs.
7. JAMB E-PIN: This will be obtained after payment of the registration fee at accredited banks or vendors.
New Rules and Updates from JAMB
JAMB has also announced new policies aimed at improving the registration process and ensuring fairness:
1. Single Phone Number Policy:
Candidates must use a unique phone number that has not been previously registered on the JAMB platform to avoid complications.
2. NIN Authentication:
All candidates must ensure their NIN details are consistent with the information they provide during registration. Discrepancies may lead to disqualification.
3. Biometric Verification:
Biometric data will be captured during registration and must match during the examination. Candidates are advised to ensure proper biometric capture.
4. Strict Adherence to Deadlines:
JAMB has warned that late registration will not be entertained, and candidates must complete their registration within the specified period once announced.
Stay Updated
Candidates are advised to regularly check JAMB’s official website and verified social media channels for updates regarding registration dates and further instructions.
Early preparation and compliance with these guidelines will help ensure a seamless experience for all candidates.
