Fight Between Rival Faction of Road Transport Union Workers Brake Out In Fagba, Lagos
A fight is reported to have broken out at the Fagba, Ifako Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State allegedly between loyalists of the suspended Chairman of the Lagos Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, and those of the Lagos State Chairman of the Tricycle Owners and Operators Association of Nigeria TOOAN, Alhaji Azeez Abiola, commonly called Istijabah.
Residents are said to have fled the area as the alleged loyalists of both men armed with guns and machetes have gone on a rampage, attacking innocent bystanders.
Three people have been reported k*lled though no official confirmation of this from the Police or any Security agency.
Istijabah had raised an alarm earlier on Monday of imminent danger in Lagos state.
He said the association (TOOAN) has alerted the Commissioner of Police, his area commanders, and all Stations within Alimosho, and Other parts of Lagos on the alleged plot by some people to forcefully take over parks.
He disclosed this in a statement widely circulated on Social Media on Monday Morning.
He accused Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya of being the brain behind the alleged plans to forment trouble in the State. He also spoke to the Vanguard Newspaper on what he called an attempt to forment trouble in the State by Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya and Co.
It will be recalled that the Lagos State Government had banned the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Lagos State and replaced it with a Park Management System headed by Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya as Chairman while retired AIG Hakeem Odumosu is to serve as Liaison officer for the State Government.
