U-20 AFCON | Gambia Defeat Nigeria's Flying Eagles To Reach First AFCON Final
The Scorpions of Gambia have reached the final of the U-20 African Cup of Nations for the very first time in history.
The Gambians defeated seven-time winners, the Flying Eagles of Nigeria in the second semi-final of the ongoing Egypt 2023 AFCON at the Cairo International Stadium on Monday.

The Scorpions will now play the Cubs of Senegal in the final scheduled for Saturday 11th of March 2023, whilst the Nigerian Flying Eagles will play the Tunisia bronze medal and 3rd place play-off on Friday 10th of March, 2023.

It is the Scorpions’ first-ever African Cup of Nations final, having reached the semi-final on two occasions and have won the bronze once.

The Nigerian Flying Eagles were lackadaisical and couldn’t penetrate the Gambians’ defense.

Adama Bojang who is the Scorpions’ highest goal scorer of the tournament took advantage of the Nigerian defense error with his ability to counter fast and placed the ball beyond the reach of the Nigerian goalkeeper.
