Ramadan is a yearly universal call to duty with reverence to Allah in a way that is beyond pretense according to Islamic beliefs. It is a veritable tool for change in life and style of living.

During the one-month fasting exercise, ‘the presence of the Almighty is felt effectively, the believers get closer to Him, and their supplications are accepted,” according to Sheik Akinwunmi.

Muslim faithful are expected to live consecrated life devoid of immorality or acts that can mar the closeness to Allah.

Having this at heart, many believers are of the opinion that sex shouldn’t be initiated between couples during the month of Ramadan.

However, the Chief Imam of Ilaro in Ogun State, Sheikh Tajudeen Adewunmi, has debunked that orientation, saying that, a husband can engage in a sexual act with his wife during the holy month.

Sheik Tajuedeen said, “husband can access his wife after breaking his fast and outside the period of fasting. The pristine legislation approves of this Q2:187”

The Ogun state-based cleric also cleared the air on whether it is appropriate to take alcohol during Ramadan or not.

He established that Alcoholic drink isn’t permitted in the Islamic religion at all, talkless of the Ramadan period.
