Breaking: Oyo State Governor Test Positive For Covid-19

The governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has tested positive for Covid-19.

He shared the news via his social media handle on Monday, revealing that he is though asymptomatic but tested positive.

The governor therefore relinquish his post as the head of Covid-19 task force in Oyo state. He appointed, Prof. Temitope Alonge as the new head of the task force, while he is self-isolating.

In the words of the governor,

“I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is POSITIVE. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate.”

I have designated Prof Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, as the Head of COVID-19 Task Force while I recover fully.”

Seyi Makinde however, urged the Oyo citizens to continue to comply with directives of the task force in the fight against the dreaded covid-19. In his words:

Please continue to comply with all the directives from the COVID-19 Task Force. Stay home, stay safe.
