Chineme Martins: NFF Suspends All NPFL Matches
Following the death of Nasarawa United player, qKo">Chineme Martins, The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has temporarily ban all NPFL matches.
The Nigeria football federation on Monday via its twitter handle announced the suspension of all Nigeria Professional Football League matches, until adequate compliance with standard medical equipment are met.

The NFF in conjunction with the Ministry of Sports engaged the League Management Company, LMC to review the situation that led to Martins’ death.
CitySports gathered that, at the time of the incident, Chineme was been attended to on the pitch, not by medical experts though. More so, the engine of the available ambulance failed to start, leading to the eventual death of the young footballer.

In its reaction to the incident, the NFF has directed that no further match be played except adequate and full compliant with standard medical equipment and personnel as provided in the NFF Club Licensing Regulations.
All match Commissioners and the host FA are to inspect all facilities, as well as conducting a test run of the facilities, before approving any match to be played.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) regrets the incidence in Lafia, condole with the family of the late player and all football stakeholders.
