Enyimba Sent Packing Out Of CAF Champions League

Enyimba have been bounced out of the Caf Confederation Cup following a 2-0 defeat to Horoya on Sunday.

A goal in each half for the Guineans earned them a berth in the competition’s last four at the expense of Fatai Osho’s men.

Goals from Bolaji Sakin and Boubacar Samassekou were all Lamine N’Diaye’s men needed to progress to the tournament’s semi-finals.

Fatai Osho’s team went into the tie staged at Conakry’s Stade du 28 Septembre needing an outright win to progress after a faltering 1-1 first leg result in Aba.

However, they were unable to curtail the attacking forays of red-hot Horoya as they went a goal down in the 27th minute.

Sakin curled the ball into the far post from the edge of the area after the visitors failed to deal properly with a corner.

Enyimba’s hopes of launching a comeback got dashed after defender Samassekou headed past Theophilus Afelokhai from Morlaye Sylla.

With this result, Horoya will lock horns with Hassania Agadir for a chance to reach the final.
