“If Permitted, Why Not” – Davido Speaks On Political Ambition
Nigerian pop singer, David Adeleke, aka Davido has continue to fuel his political ambition.
The father of three who is currently in his home town, Ede, in Osun state visited his late uncle’s (Isiaka Adeleke) grave and promised to keep alive his late uncle’s legacies.
Isiaka Adeleke, was a politician and a senator representing Osun state before his demise.
After the death of Isiaka, another uncle of the ‘Blow My Mind’ crooner, Ademola Adeleke takes the centre stage in politics.
Mr. Ademola contested the governorship election in Osun as PDP flag bearer but lost to APC, Oyetola.
On Saturday, a twitter user had taken a swipe at the singer, saying his dad should spend the money he used on private jet to develop infrastructure in Osun.
The twitter user wrote “Your daddy buying private jets up and down, why don’t you tell your daddy to channel the money to provide good roads for the people.”
Responding to the twitter user, Davido said that, if his dad his permitted, he would spend his money providing amenities for his people in Osun state. He said “If they let him, why not.”
CityBuzz recall that the singer shun the compulsory national youth service in 2019, a decision which may prevent his political ambition from materialising.
Although, he registered for the 2019 batch B, stream II National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) but failed to progress, following musical tours. He also breach the corps code of conduct by engaging in active or partisan politics, an offense which attracts consequences.
The singer was forced to cancel his musical tour this year over the outbreak of global pandemic disease, Coronavirus.
He has since returned to Nigeria with his crew. The outbreak of the Covid-19 permit him to visit his home town, Ede, where is currently.
