Iran’s PM Death Not Caused By Coronavirus – Iranian Official
Iranian officials have refuted rumour that its late Prime Miister, Mohammad Ali Ramazani Dastak died of Coronavirus.
An Iranian MP has died of the flu, semi-official news agencies have reported, amid a sharp rise in the number of novel coronavirus cases in the Islamic Republic.
Mohammad Ali Ramazani Dastak, who was elected as the representative for Astana Ashrafieh last week, was “hospitalised due to influenza and chemical injuries” dating back to the Iran-Iraq war, according to ISNA.
Reports in Iranian media had previously stated he was among five MPs who had tested positive for the new strain of coronavirus.
However, officials have since denied this is the case, stating that he tested negative and that Mr Ramazani suffered from respiratory and pulmonary disease before his death on Saturday morning.
