Mama G, Osuofia Made Their Millions Through Stereotype Roles — Friday
Nollywood Actress and content creator Monica Friday has stated that though she would love to play roles other than the comedic performance she is known for, but sees nothing bad in being typecast if the money is coming in through such roles.
The actress revealed her dream roles in new movies and the condition for taking up nude roles.
Speaking in a recent interview, Monica said she would love to be cast as a character wielding a gun or engaging in Karate.
In her words, “I would love to take up an action role like someone training for karate or explore other roles, such as playing a character carrying an AK-47 or on an action role,”
Friday cited two ace Nollywood actors who have made their millions through stereotyped roles.
She said, “I don’t like being stereotyped. However, I realised that people like Osuofia and Mama Patience Ozokwor have made their millions through these kinds of roles.”
Speaking on the requisite for accepting a nude role in a movie, Monica added, “Before any role comes my way, I believe God has already designed me for that production. As a Christian, I have already told God that whatever production He doesn’t want me to be part of, may it not come my way. I might have to play a half-nude role in a movie, but as long as the film glorifies God through its message, I’m fine with it. For me, it is all about the message.”
