The Nigeria National Centre For Disease Control, NCDC has alerted Nigerians to beware of fake NCDC accounts.
It is a common place to see fraudster taking advantage of trending topics, individuals or events to attract followers on social media, often for personal and selfish interests.
These followers may fall victim of scam proposals by the administrators of the fake social media accounts.
Identifying this danger, the NCDC has alerted members of the public on the identified fake NCDC Instagram accounts.
Sharing the news via its verified Twitter handle, NCDC wrote:
“We are aware of Instagram accounts claiming to be “official account of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control”
These are NOT affiliated with NCDC. We are working with Instagram to open a verified account on the platform
