Simi – Artistes Are Lazy and Undeserving
Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress, Simisola Ogunleye, simply know as Simi is of the opinion that artistes of today are lazy, and didn’t deserve to be called artiste.
The “Selense” crooner shared her thought on social media, a thought triggered by the sensational vocal of a Nigerian legendary musician, Balckman Akeeb Kareem.
Simi posted a video of Akeeb, where he used is voice and a guitar to entertain audience, and the actress (Simisola) wrote:
“This did something to me”. “Many of us can’t even function without auto-tune. Lol. I feel like we artistes have become lazier and more undeserving of the art. More famous, yea – but lazy af.”
The Mokalik actress started her career as a gospel singer, releasing her debut studio album in 2008, titled Ogaju. She gained prominence in 2014 after releasing “Tiff”, a song that was nominated for Best Alternative Song at The Headies 2015
