Toyin Haastrup – I Would Have Gotten Married, Become A Star If I Had Not Relocated To US
Toyin Haastrup, a Nigerian actress based in the United States believes she wouldn’t have remained single till now, if she had not left Nigeria, and perhaps, would have become a superstar.
Haastrup who recently celebrated her 10 years of living in Uncle Sam’s country said her relocation to the US and her career as an actress though cost her a long-term relationship but has also been a blessing to her.
Speaking about her journey to stardom and relocation to the States, Toyin said, “One of the sacrifices I made as a woman and actress is that if I had not left Nigeria for the US, I’m sure I would have gotten married or become a popular star.”

She revealed that one of her biggest sacrifices was losing her long-term relationship as a result of her relocation coupled with the fact that she’s an actress.
Born in Lagos, the Olabisi Onabanjo University graduate added that taking to the advice of her fellow colleagues to remain in the US was a ‘twist of fate’ that played out in her favour as it was not initially planned.
In her words, “I was nominated alongside some notable actors to perform in a stage play in the US after I feature in a film titled, ‘Osumare’, which brought me to the limelight, and that was how my journey to the US happened.”
Haastrup has been in the movie industry for over thirteen years.
