Seven-time U-20 African cup of Nations winners, the Flying Eagles of Nigeria have lost their opening match against the young lions of Senegal.

A late first-half goal by Souleymane Faye was the only goal of the match after spanking on a loose ball from goalkeeper Nwosu.

In stoppage time substitute Ahmed Abdullahi was sent off for kicking the face of a Senegalese player.

Senegal are now top of group A as Moçambique held the hosts, Egypt, to a goalless draw.
