AGN President, Emeka Rollas Blasts Kate Henshaw And Dokubo Over Abbo

The national president of Actor Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas has reacted to Hilda Dokubo and Kate Henshaw outcry over the appointment of senator Elisha Abbo has a patron of the association.

Nollygistv reports that Hilda Dokubo and Kate Henshaw two Nollywood actress, who are presumably members of the actors guild had taken to the social media to call out the guild over the appointment of the said senator.

The senator was recorded in an adult toy store, Abuja, where he slapped a female shop owner. He was indicted, arraigned and he tendered an apology. Despite his apology, some women believe that Abbo is not credible enough to be on such a patron list.

Reacting to the his co-actor outcry, the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mr. Emeka Rollas, lashed at Kate and Dokubo. He also claim both actress may not be members of the guild.

Emeka confirms the appointment and also said that he has full knowledge of the issues raised by the actresses. In Emeka’s words:

I know the story they are raising. It doesn’t count. What you should be asking here is, did he come out to apologize? Yes he did.” Emeka added.

“The woman involve did she accept the apology or not? When i mention morality and legality, you ask us who is holier than senator Abbo?”

“There was a committee set up in the senate on the same matter and the committee does not convict him. Is Actors guild a body to be used to do all of these?

The president then said that, his colleagues are just ranting: In his words: “people should just go and sit down.” “There’s no point sentimentalizing issues just to drive a point.”

We know the stage where people who are fighting human rights operate, not within the confine where actors Guild is involved.”

I don’t want to begin to mention names, if we begin to dig deep into peoples’ personal lives , honestly people who have mentioned this man’s name, may not even stand a morality test.”

Mr. Rollas then doubt if Kate and Dokubo are members of the guild. He said:

“What I am trying to say is that, it is enough for anybody who is a member of actors guild of Nigeria, that is if they are. There’s difference between a star and a member, they are two different things.

You ca be a star, you can be a celebrity, but you may not be a member of the guild.

When specifically asked if Kate Henshaw and Dokubo are members of the guild, Emeka said and we quote: “we have to check the membership list, i do not know all the members, as i told you we have two million people.”

“What makes you a member is how much have you paid to the guild in the last two years? Do you have the guild identity card as i m hanging? If you are working and you have issues how can the guild fight for you? we must check your membership status and all of that.”

“So when you go on social media, over issues you ought to settle in-house , i don’t know whom you want to impress. Unfortunately for whoever that is shouting is that, decision of an organisation or association is not what you get from social media. I don’t want join issues with any body.
