Ghanaian Pastor Arrested For Defying Restriction On Religious Gathering

A Ghanaian Pastor, yet to be identified has been arrested for disobeying the restrictions placed on Church service by the government.

Ghana government had imposed ban on all public gatherings like conferences, funerals, festivals, political rallies, Church services, Islamic worship for 4 weeks starting Monday, 16th March, 2020.

President Nana Akufo-Addo announced the restriction on Sunday night after inter-ministerial committee on coronavirus response meeting.

After deliberations the government review public gathering advisory for the protection of Ghanaians.

The restriction rolled out permit private funerals with not more than 25 people. The president however, place a total ban on religious activities, political rallies, and sports events.

Also political rallies, sporting events and religious activities, like church services in churches, mosques are ban till de next four weeks.
