WAFU A U20 Women’s Tournament ¦ Senegal Face Guinea Bissau In Final, Liberia Host Guinea
The U20 women’s national teams from Senegal and Guinea-Bissau will meet this Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Lat Dior stadium in Thiès, in the final of the UFOA-A tournament.
After outclassing Guinea (4-0) in the semi-final, the Senegal U20 women’s national team delivers a difficult match against Guinea-Bissau, who took out Liberia (1-1, TAB 3-1) in the semi-finals.
Mbayang’s protégés meet up with the Guinea-Bissau team, whom they beat on the second day (pool A). Rokhyatou Kandé (14′) was the only scorer. Guinea-Bissau has certainly learned from this defeat and will try to take revenge.
Despite the contribution of their public, the Lioncelles will have to remain focused and not underestimate Guinea Bissau, as their captain Wolimata Ndiaye underlined.
Especially since the Bissau-Guineans, with their scorer Flavia Alfredo (in the semi-final), inflicted a first defeat on Liberia. The leader of Group B had, before this match, the best attack (16 goals scored) and the best defence tied with Senegal (zero goals conceded).
At the curtain-raiser, Liberia and Guinea are competing for 3rd place. The two teams also meet again after the first day of Group B (2-0 victory for Liberia).
