WAFU B U-17 Boys Championship ¦ Why Nigeria vs Togo, Niger vs Burkina Faso Were Rescheduled

Published on

The Golden Eaglets final Group B match against Togo today has been postponed till tomorrow as a result of an unplayable pitch caused by heavy rain in Accra, Ghana.

The game will be played from 9am at the Rugby at the University of Ghana.

The match was originally fixed for 5pm today.

This information was made known by team spokesman Francis Achi.

The other group game between Niger and Burkina Faso has also been postponed on account of the same reason and will also be played tomorrow simultaneously with the Eaglets match.

Heavy rain also caused another Group B match involving Togo and Niger to be postponed by a day.

Burkina Faso lead Group B with four points and a better goals difference than the Eaglets, who also have four points from two matches.

Hosts Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire have already qualified for the semifinals of the competition from Group A.
