Waka Queen, Salawa Abeni, Celebrates 3rd Husband, Comptroller Rasheed Agbolade

Ace Nigerian Waka singer, Queen Salawa Abeni, celebrated her third hubby, comptroller,  Rasheed Agbolade Adahunse, on the occasion of his retirement and birthday.

The couple tied the knot four years ago — although the actual date of their marriage is not known.

Adahunse, the comptroller and commandant of the Customs Training College, held his birthday and retirement party in Lagos over the weekend.

The singer took to her Instagram page to share a video of herself performing at the event.

“Congratulations on your retirement and birthday celebration, comptroller Rasheed Agbolade Adahunse,” she wrote.

A blog reported that the Waka Queen earlier described Adahunse as “my dearest husband of four years” when asked to speak about the retired comptroller.

The 62-year-old singer said she has not “chosen wrongly” and that “love conquers all”.

“I don’t have much words to utter, let me thank God. I will just say a bit about Alhaji Abdulrasheed Agbolade, my dearest husband,” she said.

“You are retired but not tired, I pray that as God joined us together as husband and wife four years ago, you will live long and have abundance.

Salawa Abeni began her career in 1976 when she released ‘Late General Muritala Ramat Mohammed’, her debut album.

Her first marriage was with Lateef Adepoju, the owner of Leaders Records. Their union ended in 1986.

She later married Ayinla Kollington, another ace musician. Abeni joined his record label and stayed with him until 1994.

Rasheed Adahunse, the singer’s third husband, is the Asiwaju Adinni of Ijebu Isiwo.
