Wizkid – ‘I Am A Local Boy, You Can’t Take Ghetto Out Of The Boy”
Nigerian singer and writer, Ayodeji Balogun professionally known as Wizkid has confirmed he is a local boy, and, that can’t be changed despite his present status.
Speaking in a recent interview, the ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner does not mince words to revealed that he prefers local delicacies while in abroad than foreign food.
Starboy label boss was taking through his journey so far in the entertainment industry, and he speaks passionately about his humble beginning, while appreciating God for his present status.
The Joro singer hinted on how much he spent daily on meal, and cook, yet not to his satisfaction. That fact led the moderator into asking what Wizkid usually eat while in Los Angeles.
The father of three boys, simply responded,
“I prefer Nigerian meal, i paid $400 daily, but you can’t compare it with Nigerian meal.” “I am a local boy, you can take the boy out of the ghetto, but you can;t take ghetto out of the boy.”
Wizkid appreciate Banky W for his impact while he was signed to the singer and actor label. He also asserted that he needed to move on the reason he quit Banky W’s record label.
Wizkid has featured alongside a number of international artistes like: Drake (in one Dance), Beyonce (in Brown Skin Girl). He has also featured in a handful of Nigerian artistes, including Burnaboy, Tiwa Savage, Olamide.
However, Citybuzz can confirm that Wizkid is yet to feature one of Nigeria’s trending singer, David Adeleke , aka Davido. The duo are in good terms despite fans and trolls persistent debate about who is superior between the two artistes.
Ayodeji Balogun also said he loves every artistes in Nigeria (mentioning their names, including Rema), whilst expressing his desires for all of them to do well on a global stage.
