Super Eagles Can Soar to Fourth AFCON Title, Says Mutiu Adepoju

As the dust settles on the highly anticipated 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) draw, optimism surrounds the Super Eagles’ chances of clinching a fourth title. Former Super Eagles midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju, has expressed confidence in the team’s ability to triumph in Morocco.

Speaking to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) website, the ex-Real Sociedad star highlighted the quality and form of Nigeria’s players as key factors. “Given the level of our players, their outing at the last AFCON where they came close to winning the trophy, and the good and great things they’re doing with their various clubs in Europe presently, I am confident that we have a team that can compete favourably and perhaps win the trophy for the fourth time in Morocco,” Adepoju remarked.

The Super Eagles narrowly missed glory in the last edition, falling 2-1 to Côte d’Ivoire in the final. Under the leadership of new head coach Eric Chelle, the team is determined to go one step further in Morocco.
