Kate Henshaw’s Spicy Advice: Why Women Should Take Self-Defence Classes

When Kate Henshaw speaks, you listen—especially when she’s serving us a hot plate of truth spiced with fitness vibes and a dash of self-love!

The Nollywood star, who was also crowned the “Fitness Queen,” recently dropped some wisdom in an interview, advising women to take self-defence classes to shield themselves from domestic violence and societal madness.

Kate’s Take on Self-Defence: Not Just for Bruce Lee!

In her words, “We all just have to be careful, and to the women who are mostly the victims, I would say, we have to be careful and take self-defence classes if possible so they can protect themselves.”

And let’s be honest—there’s nothing wrong with knowing a little “hi-yah!” and “pow-pow!” after all, the goal is not to be a street fighter but to make sure no one tries nonsense with you!

Dear States, Take Notes!

Kate did not hold back when she urged other states to emulate Lagos’ anti-sexual and domestic violence initiatives. Lagos recently launched an app that allows victims to report abuse incognito. (Yes, ladies, incognito! No need to channel your inner James Bond anymore!😎)

Her message was clear: “I enjoin other states to follow that template and even do better to make sure that they protect women, and of course the men too.”

Why So Serious, Society?

With a sigh, Kate shared her concerns about the increasing societal chaos, stating, “I don’t understand what is happening in society these days. It just feels like it’s not ours any longer.”

And let’s face it, she’s right! These days, you need both a Bible verse and a black belt just to go buy bread and beans!

Fitness + Defence = Unstoppable Vibes!

When she’s not schooling us on self-defence, Kate is making sure her energy levels are on par with a fresh pot of jollof rice. She credits her mental health glow-up to her fitness regimen:

“Exercise makes me energetic. It makes me more aware of who I am. It gives me peace and joy. It has really helped my mental health, which is extremely important.”

Honestly, if fitness can give us even half of Kate’s energy, sign us up! Maybe we’ll learn to ninja-kick negativity out of our lives too.

Final Words: Take Action, Not Just Selfies!

Ladies, let’s keep those TikTok dance moves, but also learn a little self-defence. Whether it’s a jab, a hook, or a swift escape, being prepared is key. As Kate Henshaw has shown us, a little punch (of positivity and protection) never hurt anybody—except, of course, the bad guys!

Stay safe, stay strong, and maybe sneak in a few squats while you’re at it. 😉
