Osimhen Ready To Face Chelsea Or Man City In UEFA Champions League Quarter-Finals

Napoli’s talisman, Victor Osimhen, has stated that he’s ready, alongside his teammates for the challenges ahead in the champions league.

Napoli are through to the quarter-finals of the 2022/23 season after a thumping 5-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt over two legs.

Osimhen bagged a brace in the second leg played at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Wednesday, the match ended 3-0 in favour of the Partenoppeis who won the first leg by two goals to nothing in Germany fortnight ago.

Speaking at a postmatch conference, the Nigerian forward said, he and his teammates would be ready to face either Chelsea or Manchester City and Erling Haaland if the round of eight draws paired Napoli with either of those two English clubs.

He said, “Playing against Chelsea or Manchester City and Erling Haaland will be a huge match, it is going to be great. Of course, we are also doing well this season, we are a top club and it will be good to be paired with a good and top club as well, we are ready for the challenge, as well as any big team we are drawn against.”

Osimhen who was voted man of the match on Wednesday is optimistic about Napoli’s ability to win the UEFA Champions League, especially with the current set of players at the club. 

In Victor’s words, “Anything is possible, we have the squad to achieve this dream [winning the UCL], and like I said, we want to take it a step at a time, and we see what happens at the end of the season.”
