Mercy Chinwo’s Allegations vs Eeze Conceptz: What You Need to Know

Mercy Chinwo’s Allegations and Eeze Conceptz’s Response: What You Need to Know

In a recent turn of events, Mr. Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, Founder of Eeze Conceptz Limited, has addressed allegations levelled against him by popular gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.

In a statement issued by his lawyer, Mr Maxwell Opara, Onyedikachukwu categorically denied the claims, calling them untrue and baseless.

The Allegations

Mercy Chinwo reportedly accused Onyedikachukwu of breaching their contractual agreement and diverting $345,000 in royalties. She also allegedly presented these claims to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), leading to an arrest warrant being issued against Onyedikachukwu.

According to Chinwo, Onyedikachukwu was her manager and failed to fulfill his obligations under their agreement. The accusations have sparked public interest and debate, drawing significant attention to the relationship between the artist and her former record label.

Onyedikachukwu’s Defense

Through his lawyer, Onyedikachukwu refuted the allegations, emphasizing that he was never Chinwo’s manager but rather her producer. He claimed to have discovered and nurtured her talent in 2017, ultimately propelling her to stardom in the gospel music industry.

Opara stated, “The allegations made against our client by Mercy Chinwo and the EFCC before obtaining the arrest warrant order for the arrest of our client were false and unfounded. This is evident in the processes presented by the EFCC before the Honorable Court prior to obtaining the said order.”

The statement also clarified that Onyedikachukwu had a Label and Artist Management Contract with Chinwo from 2017 to 2022. However, Chinwo allegedly reneged on the agreement.

Disputing the Allegations

Onyedikachukwu’s lawyer described the claims of fund misappropriation as entirely false. He argued that both Chinwo and the EFCC were aware of how to reach Onyedikachukwu and that the portrayal of his inaccessibility was misleading.

“Consequently, we have commenced the procedure in line with the rules of the Honorable Court to have the said order set aside or vacated,” Opara stated, expressing confidence that the court would rule justly once all facts and evidence were presented.

A Call for Public Caution

The statement urged the public to disregard what Onyedikachukwu’s team described as a “smear campaign” coordinated by Mercy Chinwo. It reaffirmed that the allegations were unfounded and maintained faith in the judicial system to address the matter appropriately.

As the situation unfolds, the legal battle between Mercy Chinwo and Eeze Conceptz Limited highlights the complexities of artist-producer relationships and the importance of clear, transparent agreements in the music industry.
